Fr. Peter Dimyan
Father Peter was born on April 21st, 1983 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was baptized and raised at St George’s Church in Brooklyn, NY at the hands of the Very Reverend Father, Hegumen Mina Yanni. Father Peter was ordained as a Psaltor at the hands of His Holiness, the Late Pope Shenouda III, Reader at the hands of Bishop Suriel, and Sub-Deacon at the hands of Bishop David.
Father Peter served the Youth, Deacons, and Pre-servants while at St George’s Church. Father Peter was married in 2010 to Lydia Dimyan, and has 2 children- Ethan Augustine and David Cyril Dimyan.
Father Peter also served for a brief time at St Anianus’ Coptic Church in Princeton, NJ, at the time of its inception, under the guidance of the Reverend Father Michael Sorial. Father Peter served the Diaconate ministry while also serving on the Church Board
Father Peter graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree from the City College of New York and began his career working as a heavy construction consultant/inspector with AECOM. Father Peter later became a Construction Manager with Tishman/AECOM and worked on the rebuilding of the One World Trade Center Building.
Father Peter was called to the Priesthood and was ordained on May 10, 2014 at the hands of Bishop David. Father Peter enjoys the honor of becoming the first ordained Presbyter after the inception of the newly formed Diocese of New York and New England.
Father Peter is currently a Masters student at St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and enjoys focusing primarily on the youth ministry in his Church and the Diocese.
